2019 SAY WHEN "WEIRD PARTIES" SEMI-CARBONIC CENTRAL COAST GRENACHE/PINOT NOIR, CALIFORNIA. 67% Grenache Noir, 33% Pinot Noir. (Organic)
This delightful red blend combines Grenache from the Demeter Biodynamic Martian Ranch vineyard with Pinot Noir from SIP Certified Spanish Springs. Semi-carbonic fermentation gives it a light and crunchy profile with notes of ripe cherries accented by peppercorn and dried herbs. Serve chilled for quaffing or at room temperature for maximum flavor. Try it with: Pack this with charcuterie and cheese, olives and a rustic baguette for the perfect picnic basket.
About: Rachel (Silkowski) DeAscentiis began her winemaking journey at the age of 18 when she began helping out Brian and Kimberly Loring at their noted winery in Lompoc, CA during the summers while completing her Agricultural Business degree. After graduating, she was hired as as Assistant Winemaker where she worked for five years, mentored by Brian Loring. She soon started making her own wine on the side at their facility with one barrel of Pinot Noir in 2013. This continued as a side project until launching Say When Wine in 2016 with her husband Michel. Based in Lompoc, Say When works with small organic, biodynamic, and sustainably farmed vineyards in Santa Barbara and Paso Robles. Rachel makes wine in keeping with low intervention protocols while Michel is the creative force behind their distinctive, artful branding.
