VINCENT COUCHE "ELEGANCE" EXTRA BRUT CHAMPAGNE
VINCENT COUCHE "ELEGANCE" EXTRA BRUT CHAMPAGNE, FRANCE. 84% Pinot Noir, 16% Chardonnay. (Demeter Certified Biodynamic)
Vincent Couche is one of the stars of the grower Champagne movement. Located in the Cotes des Bar, Vincent is also fully Biodynamic, a rarity not just in this region, but in all Champagne. His Champagnes are especially complex due to extended lees aging. Aged five years on the lees and bottled with no dosage, this Champagne is creamy, yeasty and complex, with focused mineralty and lots of length. Terrific!
About: Vinecent Couche has been managing his own vineyards in the heart of the Côte des Bar using Biodynamic methods. His vineyards are split over two terroirs: Montgueux, a parcel planted in Chardonnay facing due south on chalky soil, and Buxeuil, with a majority of Pinot Noir planted in the calcareous-clay or clay-marl soils of the Kimmeridgian period.
Eager to give meaning to his profession as a winegrower and to preserve the agronomic and environmental balance, he naturally turned to biodynamic viticulture. His main objective is to produce authentic wines of excellent quality. When it comes to vinification, Biodynamics means that the methods are as natural as possible. Biodynamics makes it possible to produce healthy wines while enhancing the specificity and luxuriance of his varietals and terroirs. (Winery)
