Ohishi Sherry Cask Japanese Whisky is a distinctive rice-based spirit produced by the Ohishi Distillery, located in Mizukami, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1872, the distillery utilizes both malted and unmalted rice, including estate-grown gohyakumanishi rice and mochi rice, fermented with white koji mold—a technique traditionally used in sake production. This approach imparts a unique character to the whisky, differentiating it from barley-based counterparts.
