2020 TERLANO ALTO ADIGE PINOT BIANCO

92 points James Suckling: "A very striking pinot bianco that combines concentration and elegance with stony minerality. Hints of exotic fruit, flowers and spices make this a fascinating expression of this still underrated grape. Drink or hold."

With wonderful aromas of apple cider, chalk and lemon zest, this clean and focused wine expands on the palate to reveal warm apple crisp, clove and quince nuances. Possessing a long, concentrated citrus finish, this wine pairs perfectly with roasted pork, shellfish and egg-based sauces or as a charming cocktail beverage.

Founded in 1893, Cantina Terlano has grown into one of the leading wine growers' cooperatives in the Alto Adige region of northeastern Italy. Located in the Dolomite Mountains in the foothills of the Alps, Terlano's distinctive location and extraordinary terroir are key to the development of their stunning, world-renowned wines. With a current membership of 143 growers farming a total area of 165 hectares, Terlano insures the highest standards of quality by compensating growers for the quality of their grapes not the quantity. The emphasis in the vineyard is on reducing yield in favor of producing more concentrated fruit.

2019 ARGENTIERA "POGGIO AI GINEPRI" BOLGHERI

Impossible to find a better Super Tuscan at this price… intense red fruits with layers of spice, red flowers, and slight balsamic notes. Round and complex but elegant tannins. (Importer)

The Argentiera Estate is situated on the coast of Tuscany about 100km southwest of Florence. In the prestigious DOC of Bolgheri. The property stretches across 80 hectares of vines, all in the Bolgheri DOC. The soil composition varies throughout the vineyards, from sandy to calcareous and stony, offering complexity to the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Syrah. The wineries and cellars are made of recycled or traditional materials such as terracotta and baked roofing tiles. The vineyards are surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and the countryside is flush with maritime pines and olive tree groves.
