Mee Godard is one of Beaujolais’ most compelling modern voices, known for bringing a Burgundian level of intensity and structure to Cru Beaujolais. Since establishing her domaine in 2013, she has become a standout in Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent, focusing on low yields, meticulous vineyard work, and extended élevage to create serious, age-worthy wines. The 2022 ‘Michelons’ comes from a prized lieu-dit within Moulin-à-Vent, where old Gamay vines dig deep into granite and manganese-rich soils. Fermentation is semi-carbonic but carefully managed to balance fruit and structure, followed by aging in a mix of oak and tank. The result is a powerful, textured wine that channels the depth and longevity Moulin-à-Vent is known for, with Mee’s signature precision and edge.
