2020 ANDREA SCOVERO VINO ROSATO, PIEDMONT, ITALY. 100% Barbera.
Derived entirely of Barbera, the raw material for this bottling emanates from the ‘free run’ juice that emerges from the early stages of vinification of Andrea's Barbera-based red wine - an important factor for understanding the fleshier and more brooding elements of this delicious bottle.
This rosé is the complete opposite end of the spectrum from Provence rosé: delicate, elegant, gorgeous. Starting with its beautiful, dusty rose color, to the gentle, floral aromatics and finally expressive flavor spectrum (fresh fruit, tart fruit, a touch of earth and nuttiness).
About: Azienda Andrea Scovero is located in the tiny village of Bionzo about 7 miles south of the town of Asti - 170m above sea level, situated in a natural amphitheater, a Ciapin, in local dialect. He produces several wines all from local varietals. The vines for the Ciapin are 40 to 45 years old planted by his grandfather.
