Lush and pretty the Cooper Hill Pinot Noir is vibrant and expressive, displaying bright red fruit cherry framed with spice and earth. This comes from vineyards of primarily alluvial soils, planted in 1995. Certified Organic and farmed Biodynamically.
About:Cooper Mountain is a pioneering winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, established on the outskirts of Portland in the late 1970’s. The winery began as and remains a family endeavor, with two generations of the Gross family guiding Cooper Mountain. Since 2004 winemaker Gilles de Domingo has been overseeing all winemaking.
Cooper Mountain Vineyards is dedicated to the concept of 100% estate grown and produced wines. They began growing grapes in their own vineyards in 1978 on a south facing slope of Cooper Mountain, an extinct volcano site overlooking the Tualatin Valley and notable for its unique and shallow soils. All of the decisions relating to the final quality of the wine are under their control. They determine pruning technique and crop level, when to begin harvest, and how to process, ferment and age their wines. Over the years they have been able to develop an intimacy with the different sections of the vineyards and an understanding of how their wines develop in the cellar and in the bottle. This understanding comes from working exclusively with their estate grown grapes and helps them to capture the essence of this very special terroir. (Winery)
