2017 CORSA "SELLA RONDA" VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO, ITALY. Corvina Veronese and Rondinella.

This satisfying dry red comes from the Valpolicella region of Verona, Italy, east of Lake Garda. Valpolicella Classico is made from grapes grown in the original Valpolicella zone and Corsa's is made in an accessible, drinkable style that expresses the energetic quality of the steep, hillside vineyards of its terroir of origin in the foothills of the alps -- also home to the famous road cycling race that is the inspiration behind the Corsa label. All the fruit comes from hillside vineyards in Valpolicella. No chemical fertilizers are used in the farming. Vinified and aged in stainless steel, this versatile red is a tasty partner to cheese and charcuterie, pasta with meat sauce, and pizza as well as barbecued and grilled meat.
