2016 VON BUHL "BONE DRY" SPATBURGUNDER (PINOT NOIR) ROSE PFALZ, GERMANY. 100% Pinot Noir. (Certified Organic)
With a modern, stylized label depicting a beautiful etched skull image with a crown of roses (think, Day of the Dead) this sure is a departure from traditional German labeling...it even glows in the dark under black light! But the quality is what really stands out. This elegant Pinot Noir rose from the German producer Von Buhl in the Pflaz is not just dry, it's bone dry - meaning less that 1g/L residual sugar. Combine that with lively acidity and moderate alcohol and you've got a bright, perfumed, racy rose that is terrific with food, especially fatty foods like prosciuttos and duck.
