2024 MUGA RIOJA ROSADO, RIOJA, SPAIN. 60% Garnacha, 30% Viura and 10% Tempranillo.
Muga is one of the most famous and consistent estates in Rioja and we love their rose, made in a fresh, modern style for easy-drinking. It is interesting to note that Muga's rose a blend of both red (Garnacha, Tempranillo) and white (Viura) grapes. Fruit for the rose comes from vines planted to the shaded slopes of the Obarenes mountains (opposite of the grapes for the red wine) to preserve freshness and natural acidity of the fruit. A 15-20 day maceration allows for the perfect extract of color with three month's contact with the lees enhancing the aroma, flavor and overall structure of the finished wine. The rose is always a delicate salmon pink color, light and bright with orange tints. It's crisp and refreshing with citrus and stone fruit aromas and flavors the ulfold to reveal nderlying tropical notes and hints of spice. This is a rose for all occasions, charming on its own and will pair with just about anything from fish to pork to red meat and game. Serve chilled and enjoy!
