From south-facing vineyards in the Johannisberg district of the Rheingau region of Germany containing soils composed of Loess and loam which impart distinctive mineral character to the wines. Direct-to-press, 100% de-stemmed and fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness, this has a fragrant nose of strawberry and raspberry with accented by notes of mint. Vibrant acidity makes for a fruity yet super refreshing wine that is great with many dishes from barbecue to seafood, salads, and cured meats and cheese.
About: Under the direction of Johannes Leitz, Weingut Josef Leitz has earned the reputation of being one of Rheingau's top growers and moreover, one of the finest producers in Germany. Since taking over his family estate in 1985, Johannes has grown his holdings from 2.6 hectares to over 40, most of which are Grand Cru sites.
