2022 BECKMEN "CUVEE LE BEC" SANTA YNEZ VALLEY RHONE BLEND, CALIFORNIA. (Organic/Biodynamic - Certified) 47% Syrah, 35% Grenache,
11% Mourvedre, and 7% Counoise.
The Beckmen family established their Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley in 1994. The crown jewel of the estate is their 365 acre, certified Biodynamic Purisima Mountain Vineyard located on the western side of Ballard Canyon. We have been big fans of their wines for many years and it seems they just keep getting better. They specialize in Rhone varietals and blends and their entry-level "Le Bec Rouge" - their take on a classic French Cotes du Rhone - is a top value for the price year round.
Grenache and Syrah make the base of this wine, offering layers of cherry and blue fruit mixed wtih red and black fruits, accented by notes of earth and baking spice. All is balanced by fresh acidity and lingering finish. Delicious and ready to drink, this wine's complex profile with warm earthy spice makes it a perfect companion to fall foods and flavors.
