The Muscats being produced by Telmo Rodriguez from the hills of Malaga are some of the most exciting and unique white wines to be found out of Spain right now. Produced from sustinainably-farmed old bush vines at 1000 m of altitude in very steep slate soils called "umbrias" co-farmed with olive trees, this is 100% Muscat de Alexandria, vinified in a just off-dry style. All the fruit is hand-picked and fermented with native yeasts, and the wine raised for nine months in stainless steel to preserve this varietal's distinctive aromatic profile and freshness. Tropical citrus, blossom and Mediterranean herbs with a hint of ginger spice show on the nose, followed by a fresh palate with just a hint of residual sugar, giving this wine the perfect weight for spicy, exotically season fare, or classic Iberian charcuterie and cheese.
