Cantaloupe and honeydew melon on the nose, with faint aromatics of honeysuckle and gardenia. A hint of petrol along with tangerine and nectarine. Rich, ripe fruits, fresh-cut melon and cantaloupe, lemon pie, yellow peaches, and ripe pear. This ripe, opulent fruit is balanced with lifting, acidity, and a mouthwatering, crisp finish. Hints of fresh sun box herbs like thyme, basil, and lemongrass.

This is a perfectly balanced, refreshing wine with medium weight, which would be very versatile paired with a chicken salad, pears salad with goat cheese or richer dishes like pork tenderloin or grilled fish.

About: Jimi Brooks founded his eponymous winery in 1998 having worked in Beaujolais for the Deschamps family. Given that region's penchant for organic and biodynamic winemaking, it is unsurprising that when he returned to Oregon those tenets had been instilled upon him. Indeed, he became one of the leading proponents of biodynamics, cut short by his untimely passing in 2004 on the cusp of harvest. A dozen like-minded winemakers stepped in and made that vintage and subsequently his sister Janie Brooks Heuck took over directorship while ownership of the winery has been passed to Jimi's son Pascal. The ten acres of vine here were planted between 1973 and 1977 on their original rootstock, and this is supplemented by out-sourced fruit." (NM, 03/2015)
