2016 GADAIS MUSCADET SEVRE ET MAINE SUR LIE

2016 GADAIS MUSCADET SEVRE ET MAINE SUR LIE, LOIRE VALLEY, FRANCE. 100% Melon de Bourgogne. (Sustainable moving towards organic)

90 points & *Editors' Choice* Wine Enthusiast: "This is a finely textured wine, shining with the granite soil of the vineyard. Its acidity and crisp apple flavors are still young, still tight. Give this delicious wine until late 2017 to drink." (12/2017)

This property is situated in Saint Fiacre with vines on slopes that are in the perfect triangle where the Sevre and Maine come together. Christophe Gadais and his father worked with Robert Chadderdon for years when Mr. Chadderdon represented the Domaine for the U.S. market. Now Christophe is being gradually succeded by his son, Pierre Henri, a bright, talented and dedicated young vigneron. Pierre Henri’s great grandfather worked with Frank Schoonmaker, so as one can see, this has long been a Domaine respected by the top importers. This cuvee's entire production is from one parcel, Les Avineaux -- “granit” soil, steep slope with north east exposition overlooking the point of confluence. Viticulture is sustainable with some organic experimentation. Elevage was on the lies. (Importer)
