2016 ETIENNE SAUZET BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY
The white wines of Puligny-Montrachet are probably the most famous and most widely acclaimed in the world and Domaine Etienne Sauzet is made up of 26 acres, much of it in the heart of the premier crus vineyards.
"The 2016 Bourgogne Blanc, which had just been fined, has a clean and fresh bouquet with hints of brioche and apple blossom. The palate is simple with light grassy green fruit and moderate weight. Drink over the next 2-3years." (The Wine Advocate)
An agreeably fresh nose combines primarily pear and apple notes with soft floral and citrus nuances. There is lovely detail to the attractively textured flavors that culminate in a dry, saline and chiseled finish. This is a quality Bourgogne plus it has the stuffing to age too. (Allen Meadows - Burghound)
The Sauzet Bourgogne Blanc, which is mostly from domaine fruit, is tense and acid-driven, with aromas and flavours of honey and white flowers, finishing with chalky grip. Drinking Window 2018-2024. (Decanter)
