2015 PESQUIE "TERRASSES" VENTOUX ROUGE
92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A smoking good 2015 that readers should snatch up is the 2015 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee des Terrasses, which is 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah that’s aged in a combination of two- to four-year-old barrels and foudres. Medium to full-bodied, polished, silky and with no hard edges, it has classic Southern Rhone notes of Provencal spices, garrigue, licorice and ripe black raspberries. Buy a case and drink bottles over the coming 5-6 years." (JD, 12/2016)
Jeb Dunnuck: "...it's a crazy good value."
Located at the foot of Mt. Ventoux, Chateau Pesquie is one of the great producers of Ventoux. This higher elevations zone is protected from the powerful Mistral winds, so the weather stays cooler and more consistent for concentratedyet fresh and elegant wines. The Terrasses is the flagship wine and always over delivers in quality for the price. The Grenache is raised in stainless steel, Syrah in neutral French oak barrels for gorgeous transparency of fruit classic Southern Rhone profile. Garrigue, pepper, cherry, licorice and baking spices layered on a rich yet elegant palate with lingering finish. Aged in tank and used barrels, this is a delicious red to enjoy with or without food, and it goes with a variety of dishes and flavors from pasta to burgers. Great for entertaining.
About: Chateau Pesquie has built a solid reputation for quality, accessible yet complex wines that over-deliver in value.
