2016 LO-FI WINES "COQUILICOT VINEYARD" SANTA YNEZ VALLEY CABERNET FRANC
Lo-Fi produces easy-drinking lower alcohol wines inspired by European table wines made in neutral barrels with native yeasts, little to no sulfur additions, and as little intervention as possible. From the Ballard gravelly fine sandy loam of the organically farmed Coquilicot vineyard in Santa Ynez Valley, this is inspired by the red quaffing wines of the Loire Valley. Hand-harvested and fermented whole cluster with semi-carbonic fermentation, aged for 15 months in neutral barrel, and bottled unfiltered, this is fresh and juicy, with Cab Franc’s high-toned cranberry fruit notes mixed with earthy minerals and savory herb. The perfect light, food-friendly all-purpose red.
