Aged for nine months on the lees in stainless steel with additional aging to lend a creamy, rich texture, this shows classic Muscadet minerality and citrusy melon aromas and flavors. It's wonderfully refreshing, with a little more weight and dimension than your average Muscadets. Recommended with oysters and fish, omelets and mild sheep's cheese.
Batardiere has records of its vineyard leases dating from the 14th century. Property of the Aulanier family since 1767, the buildings and gardens at La Batardiere bear a strong Italian influence. The vines grow in light alluvial soil over limestone. (Importer)
