2016 BOUCHARD POUILLY-FUISSE
The star of the Mâcon appellations lies at the foot of the Solutré and Vergisson crags that rise into the sky like two immense bows of a ship. Pouilly-Fuissé (not to be confused with Pouilly Fumé which is a wine from the Loire) has become very famous throughout the world. Connoisseurs like its elegance and lively, silky texture. Bouchard's Pouilly-Fuisse comes from carefully selected growers that meet Bouchar'ds strict quality standards. The vineyards are planted to limestone and marl soils. 10% of the harvest is aged eight to nine months in French oak and the rest in stainless steel vats. The result is a very perfumed, silky and elegant wine exhibiting a delicate bouquet with fruit and floral notes. It is a fresh and elegant wine, well-matched with freshwater fish, shellfish and pâtés et terrines.
