2015 FAMILLE BRECHET "PLATEAU DES CHENES" LIRAC, RHONE VALLEY, FRANCE. 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
A blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre aged 33% in barrel, this lush Rhone red seriously over-delivers in quality for the price. Ripe and polished with lots of Provencal character. Try with rosemary-crusted steak or pork for a real treat!
The Brechet family owns top estates in the Southern Rhone including Chateau Vaudieu in Chateauneuf du Pape and Domaine des Bosquets in Gigondas, and are doing outstanding work in Lirac. Le Plateau des Chênes is located on the best terroirs of the appellation. Thanks to Laurent Bréchet, the family started to grow this vineyard in 2010. Lirac is still unknown as a cru, but represents one of the up and coming terroirs. The vineyard is driven by the Vaudieu's team, who is in charge of the winegrowing. The grapes are vinified in their cellars in Châteauneuf du pape.
