Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative established in Barbaresco in the 1950s that is not only one of the greatest producers in the famed Barbaresco appellation but sets the highest standards of winemaking for any cooperative in the world. It comprises 50 families spanning 250 acres in the heart of the Barbaresco DOCG appellation focused exclusively on producing world class wines from the Nebbiolo grape. The Barbaresco DOCG is composed of fruit from various vineyards in the DOCG zone, where the limestone and clay soils are rich in calcium with sandy veins. The 2014 is medium-bodied with bright red fruit and spicy flavors, balanced tannic finish. Aged for 24 months, this is recommended with fresh pasta, meat dishes, particularly lamb and feathered game, mild cheeses and will age and additional 15+ years
